this is my absolutely most favoritest example of Malaise Baroque

I like the 1st gens better. Especially the rear angle.

Yup, the folks had a 73 Monte. I still love that styling. No landau or swivels, but otherwise similar rig. Had a penchant for vapor lock in hot weather.

A 73 with the Buckets and Console?! No rot??
And you like it?
You are my new best friend! They look awesome in Black!

True, but I don’t think the first ones were exactly malaise. At least not as malaise as this one. Just look at those front fenders!

Stylistically, yes, but since this is a pre-smog ‘73 with a 4BBL carb, I think we should call this one “on the cusp of the malaise era” ;)

I had a ‘70 with buckets and console and that cool horseshoe-shaped shifter. That was The One That Got Away. But when it comes to Malaise era, this is it for me.
Also, anytime the subject of Colonnade coupes comes up, I feel compelled to mention that I’ve always had a thing for fat chicks.

I LOVE it, but there was definitely some rot on the quarters. Paint was iffy up close. I’d love to have it anyway.

A second look does show the rough body. I have a thing for Colonnade Malaise cars.
My old Chevelle for instance.
If I had the cash I’d be in at $2500 or so.

Fun fact: the end caps are die-cast zinc.
